Mark Holton

Director of Outdoor Programs

After 24 years in Ithaca, Mark considers himself a transplanted local. Mark is the director of outdoor programs and risk management for Cornell Outdoor Education. When asked in elementary school what his ambition in life was he answered, "To be arboreal." He came close — during graduate school Mark lived in a tree for three years in central NY (yes, even through the winters with no heat, electricity or plumbing!) Mark has rock climbed extensively all throughout the USA and has also climbed snowy mountains in the Andes. He brings 10 years of experience leading wilderness trips.
